Little girls' dream

Which girl never dreamed of being a princess? Anyway, I did and yesterday my dream came true. I was a princess on a swing with the Courances castle in the background. 

A great idea that deserves to be copied so that every girl can be a princess one day. Or is it too good to pop up everywhere?

Haute nature

The beauty of the fresh vegetables we bought from our holiday neighbour made me think of the spring summer collection 2012 of Dolce & Gabbana. A beautiful collection with an explosion of colourful peppers, eggplants, courgettes and tomatoes. This kind of beauty can also be found in a kitchen: restaurant NOMA in Denmark creates breathtaking food. Haute couture in the kitchen!

Summer

Today it was a nice summer day here in France. A day to relax, eat ice creams and enjoy the sun!

One of the most beautiful gardens

A few days ago I visited Villandry. It is a beautiful garden which is best known for its topiary and the use of vegetables instead of flowers. It is a garden unlike any other. 

To give you an idea: it is about 200 km from Paris but it's worth to go there.

Little paradise

Right now I'm in the French countryside. Yesterday the bustling dynamics of Paris and today the peaceful and idyllic cottage where we are staying. The contrast couldn't be more. A perfect holiday with the best of both worlds.

The Ladurée dream

Last summer I went to Ladurée in Paris for the first time and today I went again.

Only a look in the window already can make you happy. All the pretty boxes and sweets are so beautifully arranged. I didn't even mention the macarons which are so delicious! I love the special flavours like orange blossom, melon and rose.

If you happen to go to a Ladurée store, I can really recommend you to try them! You won't regret it.
By the way: if you're lucky you can find the recipe book and try to make them at home. I have already made some and they are getting better and better.

I have this jumper only one day but it feels as if I have had it for ages.

Second Hand Rose

I found this silk Dries van Noten blouse on Marktplaats (Dutch kind of Ebay). At my age I can't afford a new Dries van Noten so a second hand is the perfect option for me. The song Second Hand Rose by Barbra Streisand from the musical Funny Girl fits me quite well. Here are the lyrics, it is very funny!

A perfect day in Paris

I will be in Paris very soon so I browsed through my files for some inspiration pictures.

I will start with breakfast in the morning sun, then throw on some elegant polkadots while having a walk through the beautiful streets, visiting some museums and ending the day watching the sunset.

Afternoon tea in the park

Today I celebrated my birthday which was actually half a year ago. I wanted to give an afternoon tea in the park so that's the reason why I did it so late. ;) 

It was a very nice and beautiful day with delicious sweets, cakes, sandwiches, fruits and flowers of course!

Not for sale

I hope you don't like this blouse too much because you won't find it anywhere. ;) My mother bought it when she was at my age in a second hand shop. The skirt is made by me (the fabric is still available)and the scarf is something I found in my mother's closet.
